- 에이즈나 악성 종양을 앓거나
- 당뇨병 등 만성 질병을 앓거나
- 3세 이하 모든 건강한 영유아들
- 특히 탁아소나 데이케어에 가는 어린이들
- 그 외
- 폐렴 연쇄상구균 균종이 90여종이 넘기 때문에 모든 균종의 폐렴 연쇄상구균 감염에 대한 예방접종을 다 해 줄 수 없고, 비록 다 접종받은 후에도 모든 균종의 폐렴 연쇄상구균 감염병을 완전히 예방할 수 없다.

Individuals at high risk for health complications should definitely receive the pneumococcal vaccine.
This includes individuals with:
Acquired or congenital immunodeficiency;
Congenital absence of the spleen or acquired absence of the spleen due to surgical removal;
Splenic dysfunction;
Congenital or acquired immune deficiency;
Nephrotic syndrome, chronic renal failure, organ transplantation, chronic pneumonia, congestive heart failure, or cerebrospinal fluid leakage;
