Spanking Punishment and Child abuse
According to the study, 75% of pediatricians claim that spanking that is inflicted to the point of trauma is considered inappropriate spanking, but does not consider it to be physical abuse of children.
The remaining 25% of pediatricians argued that if mothers and fathers spanked their children to the extent of causing bruises, then that type of spanking was considered physical abuse of children and should be reported to child protection authorities.
