On its website, CBS News (4/8) says that “in 2018 nearly five percent (or one in 20) middle school students reported trying e-cigarettes within the last 30 days,” up “from less than 1 percent in 2011,” and “among high schoolers, that number jumped from 1.5% in 2011 to more than 20% in 2018.” This trend has caused some anti-vaping advocates to want the legal age to purchase any nicotine product to be raised to 21.
