미국 Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network, or FoodNet에 의하면 다음 1~8의 병원체에 의해 식품 매개병이 가장 많아 생겼다고 한다.
Campylobacteriosis (Campylobacter)
Listeriosis (Listeria monocytogenes)
Salmonellosis (Salmonella)
Shigellosis (Shigella)
Shiga toxin producing Escherichia coli O157 and non-O157
Vibrio Infection (Vibrio parahaemolyticus)
Yersiniosis (Yersinia species) 이상 6 종류의 박테리아으로 식품 매게 감염병이 생길 수 있고
Cryptosporidiosis (Cryptosporidium)
Cyclospora 이상 2 종류의 기생충으로 인해 식품 매게 감염병이 생길 수 있다.

Giardiasis (Giardia)
Norovirus Infection (aka Norwalk virus, calicivirus, viral gastroenteritis)
Scombroid Fish Poisoning
Toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma gondii)으로 식중독이 생길 수 있다.
2012년 미국에서 식중독으로 68명이 사망 했다.

According to the U.S. Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network, or FoodNet, the most common foodborne diseases are caused by the following pathogens 1 to 8:
Campylobacteriosis (Campylobacter)
Listeriosis (Listeria monocytogenes)
Salmonellosis (Salmonella)
Shigellosis (Shigella)
Shiga toxin producing Escherichia coli O157 and non-O157
Vibrio Infection (Vibrio parahaemolyticus)
Yersiniosis (Yersinia species) or more than 6 types of bacteria can cause foodborne infectious diseases.
Cryptosporidiosis (Cryptosporidium)
Foodborne infectious diseases can be caused by two types of parasites, including Cyclospora.
