Allopurinol is used to treat gout and certain types of kidney stones. It is also used to prevent increased uric acid levels in patients receiving cancer chemotherapy. These patients can have increased uric acid levels due to release of uric acid from the dying cancer cells. Allopurinol works by reducing the amount of uric acid made by the body. 알로푸리놀은 통풍과 특정 유형의 신장 결석 치료에 사용됩니다. 또한 항암 화학요법을 받는 환자의 요산 수치 증가를 예방하는 데에도 사용됩니다. 이러한 환자들은 사멸하는 암세포에서 요산이 방출되어 요산 수치가 높아질 수 있습니다. 알로푸리놀은 체내에서 생성되는 요산의 양을 줄여줍니다. 요산 수치가 높아지면 통풍과 신장 질환이 발생할 수 있습니다. 출처: WebMD
