A quarter were born outside the United States or to parents born outside the United States.
20% are of Spanish descent, 14% are of Chinese descent, 5% are of Asian descent, and 5% are of other descent.
1 in 5 children speak a language other than English at home.
1 in 6 children live below the federal poverty line ($26,465 for a family of four).
4 in 10 children have health insurance.
