커네티컷 한인회, ‘한인 야유회 축제’
30일 오전 11시 해머나셋 비치
경품행사, 건강검진 등도 진행
커네티컷 한인회(회장 오기정)가 코로나19로 중단됐던 ‘한인 야유회 축제’를 사랑의 바구니 나눔 행사와 더불어 진행한다. 한인 야유회 축제는 매년 메모리얼데이에 진행돼 왔으나 단체행사가 불가능했던 작년 사랑의 바구니 나눔 행사로 대체됐다.
이번 행사는 오는 30일 메모리얼데이에 매디슨의 해머나셋 비치 주립공원(1288 Boston Post 로드)에서 오전 11시에 열린다. 어린이·청소년 등 많은 커네티컷 교민들을 위한 행사가 준비돼 있다.
우선 사생대회, 글짓기 대회, 보물찾기 놀이 등 어린이들이 한인으로서 긍지를 느낄 수 있는 프로그램이 준비돼 있다. 이와 더불어 배구와 노래자랑, 래플 경품추첨, 골프 칩샷 대회 등이 준비돼 모든 사람들이 즐기고 상품을 가져갈 수 있다.
건강검진 프로그램도 진행될 예정이다. 37대 한인회장을 지낸 이상원 소아과 박사 및 다른 의료진들과 함께 당뇨병 검진, 고혈압 검진 등을 진행할 예정이다. 이외에 재테크 및 재정 상담, 우리 농산물 코너(우리집 방앗간) 등 실생활에 되움이 되는 상담부스가 운영된다.

The Connecticut Korean Association (Chairman Oh Ki-jeong) is holding the ‘Korean Picnic Festival’, which was suspended due to COVID-19, along with the Love Basket Sharing Event.
The Korean Picnic Festival has been held every year on Memorial Day, but was replaced with the Love Basket Sharing Event last year when group events were not possible.
This event will be held on Memorial Day on the 30th at 11 a.m. at Hammerasset Beach State Park in Madison (1288 Boston Post Road).
There are many events prepared for Korean residents in Connecticut, including children and teenagers.
First of all, there are programs prepared for children to feel proud of being Korean, such as drawing contests, writing contests, and treasure hunts.
In addition, there will be volleyball, singing contest, raffle prize drawing, and golf chip shot contest for everyone to enjoy and win prizes.
A health check-up program will also be implemented.
We plan to conduct diabetes and high blood pressure screenings with pediatrician Dr. Lee Sang-won, who served as the 37th president of the Korean Association, and other medical staff.
In addition, counseling booths that are useful in real life, such as investment and financial counseling, and our agricultural product corner (our home mill), are operated.
