Now that I am admitted to the profession of medicine,
I solemnly pledge to consecrate my life to the service of humanity.
I will show respect and gratitude to my mentor.
I will practice medicine with conscience and dignity.
I will put the health and life of my patient first.
I will keep confidential all information that the patient tells me.
I will uphold the noble traditions and honor of the medical profession.
I will regard my fellow practitioners as brothers.
I will fulfill my duty to the patient without regard to race, religion, nationality, political affiliation, or social status.
I will hold human life in the highest esteem from the moment of its conception. I will not use my knowledge contrary to humanity, even under threat.
I pledge the above oath as a free agent and on my honor.
