2024 중증응급질환 지표 공개…자해·자살 시도자 3만5천170건

(서울=연합뉴스) 김잔디 기자 = 지난해 자해·자살을 시도해 응급실을 찾은 환자 10명 중 4명은 10∼20대인 것으로 나타났다.
9일 보건복지부와 국립중앙의료원 중앙응급의료센터의 ‘2024 주요 중증 응급질환 지표’에 따르면 지난해 권역·지역 응급의료센터를 찾은 자해·자살 시도자는 3만5천170건으로 집계됐다.
2023년 대비 1만1천189건 감소했으나, 지난해 전반적인 응급실 이용이 줄면서 전체 내원 환자 중 자해·자살 시도자가 차지하는 비중은 0.8%로 최근 3년간 동일한 수준이었다.
자해·자살 시도자 중 여성은 2만1천479건으로 61.1%를 차지했다. 남성은 1만3천691건(38.9%)이었다.

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Jan-di = Four out of ten patients who visited emergency rooms last year due to self-harm or suicide attempts were in their teens and twenties.
According to the “2024 Major Severe Emergency Disease Index” released by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Medical Center’s Central Emergency Medical Center on the 9th, 35,170 cases of self-harm or suicide attempts visited regional and local emergency medical centers last year.
While this represents a decrease of 11,189 cases compared to 2023, due to a decrease in overall emergency room use last year, the proportion of patients with self-harm or suicide attempts among all patients visited remained at 0.8%, a level consistent with the past three years.
Of these patients, 21,479 cases, or 61.1%, were female. Males accounted for 13,691 cases (38.9%).
