■ 이루(귀고름)의 원인
● 이루는 일종의 고름이다.
● 이루를 귀젖, 귀고름 또는 귓물이라고 한다.
● 급성 외이도염, 만성 외이도염, 고막이 뚫린 급성 중이염, 고막이 뚫린 만성 중이염, 고막 육아종이나, 또는 중이 육아종 등이 있을 때 이루가 날 수 있다.
● 삼출성 중이염 등을 치료하기 위해 고막에 삽입한 통기관으로 인해 이루가 계속 날 수 있다.
● 이루 피 검물로 세균배양검사를 했을 때 슈도모나스균이 4~8%, 포도상구균이 10~25% 정도 배양될 수 있다.

■ 이루(귀고름)의 치료
● 경구용 항생제로 치료하는 방법도 있고 국소용 항생제 귀 점적약제를 외이도 속을 통해 병소에 넣어 치료하는 방법도 있다.
● 이루를 나게 하는 원인에 따라 다르게 치료할 수 있지만 이루가 날 때 국소용 항생제 귀 점적약제로 치료하면 치료의 효과가 더 좋고 치료비도 적게 들고 그런 약으로 인한 부작용도 적게 생긴다.
● 그러나 이루가 날 때 어디까지나 의사의 진단·치료에 따라야 한다.
● 최근에 가장 많이 쓰는 국소용 항생제 귀 방울약에는 0.3% Ofloxacin(Floxin otic)과 Cipro HC otic(Ciprofloxacin & Hydrocortisone 현탁액) 등이 있다
● 국소용 항생제 귀 방울약으로 치료할 때 귀지가 외이도 내에 조금만 있어도 그 국소용 항생제 귀 방울약의 치료의 효과가 잘 나타나지 않을 수 있다.
● 외이도 내, 고막 또는 중이강 내에 있는 육아종을 치료하는 데 국소용 항생제 귀 방울약의 치료 효과는 별로 없다고 한다.

■ Causes of Otorrhea
● Otorrhea is a type of pus.
● Otorrhea is also called eustachian tube, ear pus, or earwax. ● Otolaryngeal discharge can occur in conditions such as acute otitis externa, chronic otitis externa, acute otitis media with a perforated tympanic membrane, chronic otitis media with a perforated tympanic membrane, tympanic granuloma, or middle ear granuloma.
● Persistent otitis media can be caused by a tympanic tube inserted into the eardrum to treat otitis media with effusion.
● Bacterial cultures of blood samples from otitis media can reveal Pseudomonas in 4-8% of cases and Staphylococcus aureus in 10-25% of cases.

■ Treatment of Otolaryngeal Discharge (Earth Pseudomonas)
● Treatment involves oral antibiotics or topical antibiotic ear drops administered through the external auditory canal to the affected area.
● Treatment varies depending on the cause of the otitis, but topical antibiotic ear drops are more effective, cost less, and have fewer side effects.
● However, treatment of otitis media should always be based on a doctor’s diagnosis and treatment.
● The most commonly used topical antibiotic ear drops today include 0.3% Ofloxacin (Floxin otic) and Cipro HC otic (Ciprofloxacin & Hydrocortisone Suspension).
● Even a small amount of earwax in the external ear canal may hinder the effectiveness of topical antibiotic ear drops.
● Topical antibiotic ear drops are reportedly not very effective in treating granulomas in the external ear canal, eardrum, or middle ear.

I think it has been more than a century since we needed a parenting information bible in Korean that contains health promotion information that can be easily accessed and read by anyone, anywhere, anytime, to promote health, which is one of the basic necessities of life for Korean men, women, and children in Korea and around the world.
If you have the time, I would like to give the entire Parenting Bible to every Korean family.
If I have time, I would love to read the entire Parenting Bible aloud to all my beloved Korean parents.
