Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) is an enzyme, also abbreviated as G6PD.
G6PD is a hepatic glucose metabolism enzyme.
G6PD deficiency causes red blood cell hemolysis, leading to hemolytic anemia. This leads to increased indirect bilirubin, resulting in indirect hyperbilirubinemia.
This condition can cause jaundice in newborns and hemolytic anemia in children.
This condition is a genetic disorder.
It can occur in almost all ethnicities, but is particularly prevalent in Asians, Mediterranean people (such as Greeks), and African Americans.
It can occur in newborns, infants, school-aged children, adolescents, and adults, as well as people of all ages.
G6PD deficiency in newborns can cause hemolysis of red blood cells, leading to hemolytic anemia, jaundice, and, in severe cases, kernicterus.
Presence of G6PD does not necessarily lead to G6PD deficiency.
G6PD deficiency can be caused by viral infections, medications, or other factors.
When jaundice occurs in newborns, a differential diagnosis must be made between G6PD deficiency jaundice, physiological neonatal jaundice, and other types of pathological jaundice. Eliminate the factors causing G6PD deficiency and provide symptomatic treatment.

I believe that it has been over a century since we needed a parenting information bible in Korean that anyone can easily access and read, anywhere, anytime, to promote health, one of the basic necessities of life for Koreans of all ages and genders in Korea and around the world.
If I have the time, I would like to give the Parenting Bible to every Korean family around the world.
