다발 경화증의 약 3~5%는 18세 이전 소아들에게도 생길 수 있다.
Fingolimod (INN, Gilenya, Novartis)는 sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor modulator 이다.
Fingolimod으로 소아 다발 경화증을 치료해 본 결과 interferon beta-1a로 치료한 결과보다 더 나은 효과가 있다고 한다.
